The mocking air of a distinguished man infected his chiseled features
at the nickname.
Mr. Handsome was a way better super hero name,
the kind women swooned after.
“Oh my, Miss Lady, your compliment has disarmed me.”
he mumbled with a deep, dramatic bow.

Peter looked out on the horizon as the newborn rays of sun
kissed the ever flowing white caps of salt water that stretched
vastly out in front of them.

“Why are you even out here this early on a Saturday?”
a twinge of sarcasm danced upon his upturned lips.
“You have a lonnnngg night or something?”

His bow made her chuckle, he certainly was a funny person. She considered herself lucky that she stumbled upon him, especially at this hour. She was too nice for her own good and God knew it was a miracle nothing bad had happened to her so far in her life.
She followed his eyes as he stared into the open, cloudless sky. The view was rather nice, she thought, and she wondered if Vietnam would ever have sunrises as beautiful as the ones they had here, in New York.

“Oh, no, I just felt like… taking a walk. Watching the sun rise. Alone and far away from crowded places.” She explained, crossing her hands over her stomach and leaning against one of the wooden pillars of the pier. “But, I mean, you’re not bothering me, you can stay.” She quickly added, feeling like her previous statement was a bit rude towards him.
“And… what are you doing here at this hour?” She asked, tilting her head curiously. “You look like you had a long night.” She added with a smile. Oh, she hoped this didn’t come out rude either. But he really looked like… some guy who liked to party. And dye his hair. And do all kind of wild stuff.
